Often we never find out how our horses manage to injure themselves. In this case, the cause was evident. The pictured wound occurred on the ends of hog wire used to front the stall. Most likely this horse was rubbing and managed to create a laceration. A simple board placed over the ends of the wire could have prevented this injury. This horse required several sutures, but has healed nicely.
